About the role
- Corporate Finance Intern focusing on co-location projects for a climate tech company. Supporting financial assessments and market research for strategic initiatives in renewable energy.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of a targeted strategic project within the Co-Location team, including research, analysis, and development of recommendations.
- Support commercial assessments of new co-location opportunities through market research, partner mapping, and competitor benchmarking.
- Assist in evaluating commercial models and partnership structures for co-located BESS projects.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of Excel-based financial models (forecasts, simple valuations, sensitivities).
- Support preliminary project finance assessments and early-stage economic evaluations.
- Help prepare business cases and strategic materials for internal stakeholders.
- Support operational planning activities such as resource planning, timelines, and internal coordination.
- Assist in early-stage M&A or due-diligence research where applicable.
- Provide ad-hoc analytical and organizational support to the Co-Location team and, when needed, to the Finance or Accounting functions.
Requirements
- Current MBA student or recent MBA graduate
- Excellent communication skills in English (C1+)
- Strong proficiency in Excel (formulas, financial modelling, forecasting)
- Foundational experience with project finance, valuation methods, or financial analysis
- Experience in M&A, due diligence, or corporate finance projects is a strong plus
- Strong understanding of business fundamentals and ability to evaluate strategies
- Prior experience working in startups or dynamic environments
- Legally able to work in Germany and currently living in Germany.
