About the role

• Data Scientist focusing on Natural Language Processing in a collaborative environment at TeamViewer. Engaging in model design, experimentation, and deployment for scalable NLP solutions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams to define and frame high-impact NLP problems, determining data requirements and designing robust data collection and annotation strategies
• Process and analyze large volumes of unstructured text data, performing essential tasks such as tokenization, normalization, and advanced feature extraction
• Design, build, and rigorously evaluate cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning NLP models, including advanced architectures like transformer networks and sequence models
• Execute comprehensive experiments (including A/B testing), define key NLP evaluation metrics (like F1-score, ROUGE, or perplexity), and optimize model performance against business objectives
• Partner effectively with ML and Software Engineers to transition NLP solutions from research prototypes to robust, scalable, and maintainable production systems

Requirements

• 3+ years of practical experience as a Data Scientist with a dedicated focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP)
• Strong proficiency in Python and expert-level familiarity with key NLP and ML libraries (e.g., Hugging Face, SpaCy, NLTK) and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow or PyTorch)
• Proven ability to preprocess, analyze, and manage large-scale text datasets, and comfort working with SQL/NoSQL databases in a big data environment
• You are a clear and compelling communicator with the ability to simplify highly complex NLP concepts and technical findings into actionable insights for both engineers and non-technical product/business leaders
• You easily adapt to working cross-functionally, proactively collaborating with Engineering and Product teams to align technical solutions with business goals and drive project completion
• You demonstrate high ownership over your models, from initial concept design through to production performance monitoring, and can manage ambiguity effectively.
