About the role
- Software Engineer developing, testing, and delivering software systems for U.S. Air Force training solutions. Collaborating with engineers and ensuring alignment with program goals while adhering to cybersecurity standards.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software components and systems supporting JSE capabilities.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC)—from requirements analysis through development, integration, verification, and sustainment.
- Contribute to the architecture and system design for scalable and maintainable software solutions.
- Develop and optimize simulation software to support mission support, training, and analysis environments.
- Work closely with other engineers, system integrators, and Air Force stakeholders to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with program goals.
- Apply agile and DevSecOps practices for code integration, testing, and delivery.
- Maintain adherence to DoD cybersecurity, software assurance, and configuration management standards.
Requirements
- Active DoD Security Clearance or held within the last 12 months.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional experience in software engineering or system development.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C++, Python, or Java.
- Experience with software design, development, integration, and testing in complex system environments.
- Understanding of software version control (Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
