About the role
- Information Security Analyst I supporting monitoring and investigation of security risks at Switch. Collaborating with senior analysts to protect systems and data with security operations.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and logs using SIEM, EDR, and related tools
- Review and triage suspicious activity and escalate issues using documented procedures
- Support vulnerability management activities, including scanning, validation, and remediation tracking
- Maintain and update security documentation, including procedures and standards
- Participate in access reviews and user account audits
- Assist with security awareness efforts, including phishing simulations and training support
- Support compliance and risk assessment activities under direction from senior team members
Requirements
- Foundational understanding of information security principles such as least privilege and defense in depth
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, or macOS operating systems
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and firewalls
- Exposure to security tools such as SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, or endpoint protection tools
- Internship, academic, or hands-on experience in IT, cybersecurity, or systems administration
- Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience
- Entry-level security certifications or active progress toward one are a plus
