About the role

• Senior Full-Stack Engineer building backend services for Taktile's automated decisioning platform. Designing high-scale subsystems and ensuring reliability and performance of decision-making systems.

Responsibilities

• Build and own backend services in Python / FastAPI on AWS serverless infrastructure.
• Design and evolve high-scale subsystems operating on historical decision data.
• Maintain a high bar for code quality, system reliability, and delivery velocity.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to translate business problems into scalable technical systems.
• Operate in a high-leverage environment where AI-assisted and agentic coding are embedded into daily workflows, with access to state-of-the-art coding models and the autonomy to use them deeply while maintaining strong engineering standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years building and owning production backend systems.
• Comfort working with large datasets.
• Prior industry experience with Python. Java is a plus.
• Experience with AWS services and serverless architectures.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• Location: Berlin (hybrid setup). Taktile will not cover relocation services for this role.
• Experience with large-scale data technologies such as Apache Iceberg, Athena, Spark, or similar is ideal, but not required.
• Experience with React and TypeScript is ideal, but not required.
• Experience building experimentation or evaluation systems is ideal, but not required.
• Exposure to fraud, AML, risk, or financial decisioning domains is ideal, but not required.
