Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain PowerBuilder applications, ensuring delivered software meets performance, scalability, and quality standards;
• Design and execute tests (unit and integration) and perform debugging and bug fixes in applications;
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications, proposing innovative solutions;
• Integrate PowerBuilder applications with other systems and services (APIs, web services, etc.), ensuring effective communication between platforms;
• Create and update technical documentation for code and features, following development best practices;
• Collaborate with other developers, analysts, and project teams, acting proactively and sharing programming and software design best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field;
• Experience developing with PowerBuilder, with strong knowledge of PowerScript;
• Experience building desktop applications and, occasionally, web applications using PowerBuilder architecture;
• Strong knowledge of PL/SQL and SQL and experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), including complex queries and performance optimization;
• Familiarity with frameworks, libraries, and development tools associated with PowerBuilder, such as the PowerBuilder IDE and version control systems (e.g., Git);
• Ability to integrate systems via APIs, web services, or other technologies;
• Experience debugging code and applying tests (unit and integration) to ensure software quality;
• Knowledge of development best practices, design patterns, modularization, and code reuse;
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Spanish.
