Senior Mechanical Engineer in Stantec’s Buildings practice, leading mechanical building systems projects. Collaborating with teams to deliver high-quality and sustainable designs in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
Lead mechanical engineering and design on projects and serve as the engineer of record
Provide QAQC services in alignment with firm Quality Process Manual
Coordinate with Project Managers and Design Managers/Project Engineers for deliverables and Basis of Design
Oversee load calculations, systems design, cross-discipline coordination, and signing and sealing of contract documents
Conduct LCCA Analysis
Mentor junior engineers and participating in in-house continuing education programs
Coordinate with Department Head and Focus Leads for resource allocation
Manage Construction Administration phase of a project including submittal review, RFI responses, and site visit proficiency
Strong working knowledge of Revit, including Revit Schedules and sequences of operation
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering
10 or more years of engineering experience in industrial design and construction industry with a current Professional Engineers license in the U.S.
LEED AP preferred
Technical writing experience and proficiency
Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Proficiency in PDF tools such as Bluebeam Revu or Adobe Acrobat
Proficiency in energy modeling using a IESVE or other current DOE-2 modelling software (ASHRAE 140 Compliant)
Knowledge in scope definition, design schedule management, coordination with other disciplines, design document creation, and quality reviews
Budget tracking throughout design
RFP scope definition and resource estimation
Perform engineering studies for highly technical clients whose details include but are not limited to phased system loading, payback analysis, and knowledge of industry trends
