About the role

  • Junior Environmental Consultant supporting stack emissions testing and analysis across Atlantic Canada. Collaborating with a team on high-quality environmental consulting services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination and execution of stack emissions testing at industrial facilities and/or laboratory testing in a safe, professional, and organized manner. This work may involve travel to sites across Atlantic Canada, typically with a small team, for assignments ranging from single-day visits to multi-week campaigns.
  • Support the preparation of health and safety plans, work plans, and other technical documentation.
  • Perform equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting in the field.
  • Prepare sampling apparatus, work with chemical reagents and conduct basic lab analysis Prepare detailed field notes and contribute to the development of technical reports summarizing work completed.
  • Compile, analyze, and interpret analytical data, including the preparation of tables, figures, and graphs.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team and be comfortable working on multiple projects.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and Microsoft 365 applications).
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s licence and willingness to learn how to tow trailers for field assignments.
  • Ability to take initiative and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.
  • Comfort working at heights, including on elevated platforms and rooftops.
  • Willingness and physical ability to perform hands-on field work, including equipment setup at industrial sites and frequent stair and ladder use.
  • Ability to perform basic electrical and mechanical tasks, including working with small pumps, fuses, and light wiring.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a strong safety culture. Valid safety certifications such as First Aid, Fall Protection Awareness, H2S Alive, or similar are considered an asset. Safety training will be provided to the successful candidate, as required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
  • Aerial boom lift operator training and experience are considered an asset.
  • Willingness and ability to accommodate year-round indoor and outdoor work, including regular travel within the Atlantic provinces.
