About the role

  • Audiological Research Engineer developing innovative hearing solutions and services for hearing impaired people. Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team to drive functional innovation and evaluate user benefits of AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Design and analyze experiments using clinical and biomedical data; collaborate with audiologists, clinicians, and engineers to translate research into deployable tools.
  • Contribute to prototypes and the integration of innovative functions into future product platforms and services.
  • Contribute to the development of new test methods to validate audiological concepts.
  • Evaluate the AI feature by performing technical measurements in the lab, small studies with actual expert listeners and handling the clinical documentation side for the studies.
  • Stay current with state-of-the-art ML, AI, and audio signal processing research.
  • Support knowledge transfer to product teams, clarify requirements, and help translate prototypes into commercial features.
  • Support the design, coordination, and monitoring of clinical studies (internal and with external collaborators).
  • Analyze results and formulate proposals for implementation in our products and systems

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in engineering, audiology, computer science, physics, or related natural sciences; PhD in a related field is a plus
  • At least 2 years of development experience using Python or similar programming languages
  • Strong background in signal processing and its application to audio or audiology data
  • Experience in developing functionality for medical devices or in performing diagnostic hearing testing & fitting of hearing devices is an advantage
  • Familiarity with large-scale data processing or statistical analysis is a plus
  • Profound Knowledge in evaluation methods (HI verification, electroacoustic performance, subjective testing), fitting procedures, implementing and recording technical measurements in the lab
  • Knowledge of audiological acoustics, psychoacoustics normal and hearing impaired
  • Basic knowledge of deep learning
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with high-quality awareness
  • Very good English skills in both verbal and written communication and good German or French in verbal communication is a plus.
