About the role

Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain REST APIs in Node following best practices (SOLID, Clean Architecture).
- Design robust integrations with VTEX, logistics, promo engines, proprietary checkout and geolocation systems.
- Use Redis as a distributed cache to improve performance for critical queries (catalog, CMS, session, user data) and implement consistent invalidation policies.
- Apply code standards, automated tests (unit, integration, contract) and CI/CD pipelines, aligned with infrastructure-as-code.
- Monitor and observe services (logs, metrics, tracing) and support incident investigation and resolution.
- Participate in the agile cycle (refinement, planning, dailies, retros) and continuous process improvement.
- Contribute to production support, ensuring stability and reliability.
- Collaborate on evolving the architecture and modernizing legacy systems.
Requirements
- Strong expertise in Node (JavaScript/TypeScript), including REST API development, consumption of external services, queues/events and best practices for performance and security.
- Proven experience with NoSQL and relational databases, and with Elasticsearch, Redis, cloud storage and CDN services, preferably in a GCP environment.
- Experience with high-volume systems.
- Experience with API Gateway (such as Kong or similar), integration patterns (circuit breaker, retry, backoff) and designing clear, versioned API contracts.
- Knowledge of VTEX.
- Experience with frontend technologies (React, Next.js).
- Familiarity with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Lean).
- DevOps experience (practices and routines with pipelines and delivery).
