- Platform Engineer III serving as technical and strategic leader for Engineering Platform at Smarsh. Driving platform's roadmap execution and ensuring scalability and reliability of the platform.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical and strategic leader for the development and evolution of the Engineering Platform.
- Drive the platform's roadmap execution, aligning it with organizational objectives.
- Ensure scalability, reliability, and extensibility of the platform.
- Collaborate with platform architects and product owners on self-service datastore provisioning and lifecycle management.
- Lead initiatives to optimize performance of large-scale and multi-tenant datastore services.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or infrastructure automation roles, preferably working with data platforms.
- Deep expertise with AWS for provisioning, security and management of data infrastructure.
- Advanced experience writing and managing Terraform infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong programming and scripting abilities in Python, Go, Bash, or Java for automation and custom tooling.
- Deep experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Operational knowledge of data technologies including MongoDB, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, S3, RDS, and SFTP, including configuration, scaling, and backup strategies.
