About the role
- System Engineer managing SCADA systems for large-scale battery storage at SMA Altenso. Leading design, testing, and implementation of complex energy systems while collaborating with partners.
Responsibilities
- You design, conceptualize, and implement SCADA systems for large-scale battery storage and substations
- You develop functional and communication concepts in accordance with project-specific requirements for control philosophy, protection systems, and integration into higher-level control centers.
- You independently perform system testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and simulations, or supervise subcontractors during these activities.
- You collaborate closely with internal departments and external partners to ensure system functionality and bring systems into operation.
- You prepare requirements specifications for components and software solutions to be procured and take technical responsibility for supplier selection.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the design and commissioning of SCADA systems
- Solid knowledge of SCADA systems and communication protocols (IEC 61850 and IEC 60870, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, etc.)
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Technology, Energy Engineering, or a comparable qualification
- Good command of German and English, both written and spoken.
