About the role

  • Technical Project Manager at SiXworks leading secure IT platform development and delivery of technical projects within Defence and Security sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and evolution of SiXworks’ internal secure IT platform
  • Deliver technical IT projects to time, cost, and quality
  • Manage the development lifecycle of the internal secure IT platform, from requirements to release
  • Plan projects comprehensively and realistically, establishing clear milestones, budgets, and delivery expectations
  • Ensure projects are resourced appropriately and delivered responsively, flexibly, and efficiently
  • Apply appropriate project methodology and adapt governance for agile, technical environments
  • Lead and maintain robust project governance, including forecasting, reporting, and risk management
  • Oversee project contracts, schedules, resources, equipment, and information
  • Ensure internal platforms meet security requirements in MOD secure environments
  • Work closely with engineering and security teams for compliance with best practices

Requirements

  • Significant industry experience delivering technical projects within MOD secure environments
  • Experience developing and maturing internally funded IT capabilities into commercially viable offerings
  • Strong technical awareness of secure IT platforms, system architectures, and security principles
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to evaluate data, options, and performance metrics
  • Ability to operate at pace and manage multiple high priority initiatives
  • Demonstrable experience selecting and applying project methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Hybrid)
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Outstanding organisational, leadership, and motivational abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong decision-making capability, informed by both technical and commercial considerations
  • Curiosity, strong problem solving ability, and motivation to continuously improve technology design and delivery.
