About the role

  • Custom Carpet Designer creating compelling carpet designs for key hospitality accounts. Collaborating with clients and internal teams to develop tailored solutions within a defined region.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with key hospitality clients to develop custom carpet solutions through a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Responsible for taking designs from concept to full color product completion
  • Maintain knowledge of Hospitality design trends to help further support customer projects
  • Develop exceptional custom design by using carpet design software and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Manage interface between Client, Sales, and Custom Department
  • Must be able to identify a problem and implement innovative solution with little to no assistance
  • Manage the design process to ensure that key dates/deliverables are met
  • Conduct project meetings and conference calls with designers, architects and end users
  • Coordinate pattern and color development as it relates to the full scope of the project
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings and trade shows as needed
  • Working with the brands owners on new projects and renovations
  • Ensure that design requirements meet manufacturing criteria
  • Review design brief with regional Design Manager to ensure that all information is documented at the start of the project
  • Be able to work quickly and decisively while maintaining flexibility
  • Stay abreast of competition and competitive information and keep management informed of any changes in market conditions
  • Working with our sales managers in each area in understanding hospitality sales and their role in the process

Requirements

  • Four year college degree OR High School Diploma/GED (Portfolio Required)
  • Trained in color and design application
  • Must have the ability to think creatively outside of conventional concepts
  • Understanding of the basic concepts of carpet manufacturing and interiors industry
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Good time management skills - able to meet prescribed deadlines and pivot as needed
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Nedgraphics Texcelle , Tuft (or similar) as well as Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes trust
