About the role

  • Desktop Motor Engineer supporting vehicle claims and repairs in the UK. Ensuring accurate repair estimates and customer communication for accident vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Claims department by ensuring vehicles involved in accidents are repaired correctly or valued if beyond repair
  • Assess vehicle damage and determine repair methods
  • Liaise with repair shops
  • Review claims and provide cost estimates
  • Keep customers informed, balancing technical assessments with customer interactions
  • Collaborate with the engineering team and other departments

Requirements

  • Knowledge of modern motor vehicle repair and methodology
  • Ability to negotiate and agree on repair costs
  • Skills in negotiating total loss settlements
  • Self-motivated and capable of making independent decisions
  • Accredited to ATA standards or working towards it
  • Knowledge of vehicle construction and repair techniques
  • Competent in using repair Estimating Systems (Audatex)
