About the role
- Desktop Motor Engineer supporting vehicle claims and repairs in the UK. Ensuring accurate repair estimates and customer communication for accident vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Support the Claims department by ensuring vehicles involved in accidents are repaired correctly or valued if beyond repair
- Assess vehicle damage and determine repair methods
- Liaise with repair shops
- Review claims and provide cost estimates
- Keep customers informed, balancing technical assessments with customer interactions
- Collaborate with the engineering team and other departments
Requirements
- Knowledge of modern motor vehicle repair and methodology
- Ability to negotiate and agree on repair costs
- Skills in negotiating total loss settlements
- Self-motivated and capable of making independent decisions
- Accredited to ATA standards or working towards it
- Knowledge of vehicle construction and repair techniques
- Competent in using repair Estimating Systems (Audatex)
