Responsibilities
- Optimize database performance and integrated data models in our data solution in Azure environment.
- Optimize integrated data model for customer facing web application based on source data products (data mesh approach)
- Optimize database performance to meet non-functional requirements (NFRs)
- Contribute to the Community of Practice for Data
- Ensuring high standards in code quality, testing, documentation, and system performance
- Taking an active role in sharing your knowledge, mentoring, supporting stakeholders and contributing to improving customer experience
Requirements
- Experienced in performance optimization of data models in the context of reporting with large amounts of data
- A completed degree in Computer Science or a comparable qualification
- Several years of experience in optimization of data solutions and data modelling (normalization, star schema, data vault)
- Excellent knowledge in SQL and of relational databases (preferable Azure)
- Experience with concepts of non-transactional SQL systems (Impala, Trino, Spark, Hive)
- Knowledge of dbt and of columnar storage (Azure db SQL)
- Experience with git and Jenkins
- Practical experience with DevOps and agile methodologies is a must
- Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes is beneficial
- Knowledge of Java, Python is beneficial
- Fluency in English
