About the role
- Principal Engineer leading digital design and certification processes within avionics at Collins Aerospace. Responsible for product lifecycle management, including design, development, and certification compliance.
Responsibilities
- Responsibilities will include circuit card and sub-level module development, product certification, product transition, and product sustainment over the life cycle of the design.
- Act as the primary Certification Focal, owning the Plan for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC) and hardware development and verification plans.
- Own SOI process.
- Responsible for executing solutions with a product line focus and striving to generate reuse and reapplication of the product line artifact lifecycle data.
- Opportunity for project engineering and control account management (PE/CAM) functions.
- 5-10% travel as needed.
Requirements
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience.
- Hardware domain knowledge of development and verification lifecycle activities and production of the associated artifacts.
- Understanding and application of certification objectives (DO-254, AC 20-152A).
- Design experience interfacing with complex embedded devices (microprocessors, graphics processors, memory).
- Experience working with standard lab equipment for integration testing of hardware designs.
- Experience with schematic capture of digital/analog mixed signal electrical circuit designs.
