About the role

  • QA Leader overseeing testing strategy in Brazilian automotive technology sector. Leading a collaborative QA team to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Define the testing strategy: Design the overall testing strategy, determining the right balance between unit tests, API tests and user interface (UI) tests, and ensuring that automation is integrated into the development pipeline (CI/CD).
  • Map risks and prioritize efforts: Identify potential software risks and prioritize testing activities in the most critical areas of the system where failures would have the greatest business impact.
  • Review requirements and acceptance criteria: Collaborate with Product Owners (POs) and development teams to define clear acceptance criteria and ensure quality requirements are understood by all.
  • Monitor quality metrics: Track and report quality metrics regularly, such as test coverage, defects found and resolution, so management can take corrective action.
  • Lead and coordinate the team: Supervise the QA team, fostering a collaborative and engaged environment.
  • Support technical development: Mentor team members, conduct one-on-one (1:1) meetings, provide feedback and support individual technical growth.
  • Promote best practices: Drive a quality-first culture across the organization and encourage adoption of QA and software engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in software testing (manual and automated).
  • Experience leading a QA team.
  • Experience with test automation using tools such as Selenium, Cypress or Playwright.
  • REST API testing with tools like Postman and Newman.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes and integrating tests into pipelines.
  • Monitoring and managing quality metrics (cycle time, defect rate, test coverage, lead time, throughput).
  • Systemic perspective, understanding the full development and quality flow.
  • Critical thinking to identify failures and risks that impact the final product.
  • Analytical skills and continuous improvement based on indicators and data.
