About the role
- Software Engineer providing OpenTelemetry and Distributed Tracing solutions for Red Hat. Collaborating with open source community and internal teams to deliver observability goals.
Responsibilities
- Work with the rest of the OpenTelemetry team to design, develop and deliver on our OpenTelemetry solutions.
- Collaborate with and be an active member of the OpenTelemetry open source community.
- Represent Red Hat’s position in open source communities.
- Collaborate with other observability teams at Red Hat, such as the Distributed Tracing, Metrics or Logging teams.
- Work with, advise, and collaborate with other teams at Red Hat or our customers on their OpenTelemetry needs.
- Work as part of an agile team to actively communicate status and complete deliverables on schedule.
Requirements
- Experience with Go development
- Comprehension of standard engineering practices relevant to enterprise software development
- Good understanding of Observability principles
- Experience with OpenShift, Kubernetes or other cloud native technologies is a plus
- Experience with Jaeger, Tempo, Loki, Prometheus or similar observability solutions is a plus
