OT Engineer responsible for connecting production equipment to IoT infrastructure and developing connection concepts. Collaborating with IT and external service providers to ensure OT security.
Responsibilities
You are responsible for connecting our production equipment and test rigs to our IoT infrastructure.
You continuously develop our connectivity concept for machine networking.
You assist in fault isolation and troubleshooting, as well as performance bottlenecks in machine data communication and OT networks (troubleshooting).
You support security audits, identify potential vulnerabilities, and implement measures to ensure OT security.
You work closely with IT, production, and external service providers, serving as an interface between engineering and IT.
You support Production Engineering in specifying new production systems and accompany the acceptance and commissioning process.
Requirements
You have completed a technical education in electrical engineering, automation engineering, mechatronics, IT systems electronics, or an equivalent qualification — preferably with further training as a certified technician or master craftsperson.
You bring professional experience in an industrial environment — ideally in machine connectivity, automation, or network communication.
You have very good knowledge of common OT communication protocols and fieldbus systems (e.g., OPC UA, Profinet, MQTT, Modbus).
You are familiar with relevant standards and norms in OT security, such as ISO 27001, IEC 62443, or NIS2.
You have experience connecting PLC controllers, such as PCS7, S7, or Allen-Bradley.
You work proactively, communicate clearly, and are a true team player — including in interdisciplinary and international teams.
You possess strong analytical thinking and high problem-solving skills.
You have good German and basic English skills.
