About the role

Data & AI Product Engineer responsible for developing data-driven product features for SaaS solutions in operating gastronomy and corporate catering. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex information into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

Responsibility for Data & AI features from ideation and prototyping through to production integration into our SaaS platform
Preparation and transformation of data from user events, POS, menu, IoT and CRM systems
Implementation and integration of LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral) for chatbots, text analysis and automated content generation
Design and connection of APIs and MCPs
Development of intelligent recommendation systems for personalized menus, promotions and order forecasts
Building time series analyses and forecasting models to predict demand, visit frequency and sales trends
Rapidly testing and iterating new ideas in close collaboration with Product, Design and Backend teams
Contributing to scalable data infrastructure — from data pipelines and feature stores to model deployment and monitoring
Working closely with the Product team to translate data-driven insights and AI models into real customer experiences

Completed degree in (Business) Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning or a comparable field
Experience in developing data-driven or AI-powered applications, ideally in a SaaS or product environment
Strong understanding of data modeling, analytics and machine learning
Experience building and operating modern data architectures and pipelines, ideally with Microsoft Fabric and AI Foundry
Practical experience with cloud-based data platforms and production-grade data workflows
Excellent knowledge of Python and SQL
Experience with API integrations and basic backend development
Knowledge of feature engineering, time series forecasting and recommender systems is a plus
Ideally experience with LLM APIs and modern AI toolchains, including MCP
Ability to think about technical solutions from a product and user perspective
Structured, independent working style with high motivation and flexibility
Enjoys rapidly testing new ideas, iterating and turning them into products
Very good English skills; German skills are a plus
