About the role

  • Family Law/Victim Rights Attorney at Pine Tree Legal Assistance providing holistic legal services to victims. Collaborating with partners to improve community responses and legal representation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, low-barrier holistic legal services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking
  • Consult and collaborate with local resource centers and service providers
  • Provide legal advocacy ranging from advice to full representation in cases
  • Engage in community networking and outreach to strengthen access to legal services
  • Participate in working groups to improve systems for addressing domestic and sexual violence

Requirements

  • Must be admitted to the practice of law in Maine or be eligible to practice under MRCP 11(c)
  • Previous experience working with survivors of domestic and sexual violence is preferred
  • Previous litigation experience is preferred
  • Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, the state of Maine
