About the role

  • Regional Director managing relationships with member hotels for Preferred Hotels & Resorts in Mexico & Central America. Driving profitability through engagement, training, and strategic reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the first point of contact and facilitate all communication with PH&R for member hotels in the region.
  • Identify key decision makers and influencers at each hotel to build strong business relationships.
  • Maintain strong relationships with hotel leadership and decision makers, management companies, and ownership in the region.
  • Maintain regular contact with all hotels in the region by personal visit, telephone, and regional meetings.
  • Deliver all product training necessary.
  • Renew, with support of leadership, all existing member hotel contracts in a timely manner.
  • Work with property and PH&R revenue management teams to ensure optimal revenues to member hotels and for PH&R.
  • Work in close collaboration with the domestic and global sales team to ensure effective sales support is provided to all hotels within the region.
  • Conduct formal, scheduled, operational reviews (“Business Reviews”) with each hotel in the region on a regular basis and provide ad hoc support as required.
  • Monitor, manage and maintain primary responsibility for the accounts receivable of regional hotels with support of central PH&R finance team.
  • Initiate regional sales and marketing activities and programs to support member properties.
  • Support and sell PH&R brand and co-op programs within the region.
  • Work toward and report on the achievement of regional and position specific goals as defined by the company’s and the region’s annual goals.
  • Provide timely scheduled and, as assigned, ad hoc status reports on areas of responsibility.
  • Through relationships with existing properties in the region, develop lead opportunities for all Preferred Travel Group business entities including Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Beyond Green, Historic Hotels Worldwide, PTG Consulting and Beyond Green Travel.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated travel industry related sales and marketing experience required.
  • A proven track record for developing customer relationships and strategic results-oriented programs.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Spanish and English.
  • Strong experience in hotel sales and/or revenue management or closely related.
  • Strong experience of managing budgets and profit & loss accounts.
  • Outstanding communications and persuasion skills, both written and verbal, required.
  • Strong analytical and multi-dimensional strategic-thinking skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic distribution channels including digital.
  • High energy and high commitment required.
  • Strong teamwork and team-building skills required.
