About the role
- API Platform Engineer developing a central API management platform for secure integrations and innovative products. Building scalable API gateways and optimizing deployments in the developer community.
Responsibilities
- You create the technological foundation that enables PostFinance to integrate new digital business models, partner integrations, and innovative products quickly, securely, and at scale
- Build and operate API gateways: You configure and operate standardized gateways on our platforms
- Drive automation & GitOps: You automate API deployments and integrate gateways, policies, and plans into our CI/CD pipelines
- Ensure scalability & reliability: You optimize the performance, resilience, and observability of the gateways and support teams through enablement
- Automated testing, clear quality standards & modern DevOps practices: You ensure our APIs and gateways can be deployed stably, securely, and reliably at any time
- Embed security & governance: You implement central security standards and establish lifecycle processes
- Strengthen developer experience: You shape the developer portal (self-service onboarding, plans, documentation) to accelerate adoption and integration
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent professional experience
- Experience with API management and Kubernetes (K8s)
- Automation mindset: GitOps / CI/CD
- Familiarity with agile methods such as Scrum or Kanban as well as DevOps practices
- Security mindset in your daily work for a Swiss bank
- Analytical and solution-oriented mindset
- Good German and English skills, both written and spoken
