About the role

• Build and optimize frontend platform at scale for millions of players and help ship features faster in an Amsterdam-based tech scale-up. Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimise our platform at scale to deliver smooth, lag-free experiences for millions of players across devices and network conditions.
• Write clean, maintainable code that improves our long-term frontend architecture (React + Redux).
• Partner closely with product, design, and backend engineers to ship features that matter and impact engagement and retention.
• Ensure responsive, accessible, and high-performance experiences across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
• Experiment and iterate — launching tests, refining features, and improving performance over time.
• Own your work end-to-end: from implementation to operational follow-up, bug fixes, and continuous improvement.
• This role is about ownership and impact, not just completing tickets.

Requirements

• 8+ years of proven frontend experience working on consumer-facing products
• Has deep, hands-on experience with React + Redux in large-scale applications
• Is fluent in JavaScript (ES6+) and has solid TypeScript knowledge
• Has advanced HTML + CSS skills, with a strong focus on responsive design, accessibility, and performance
• Can confidently translate product and design intent into high-quality interactive experiences
• Thrives in collaboration with product, design, and backend teams
• Formal education in computer science, design, or a related field is preferred — we operate in a highly educated and analytical environment.
• Self-taught candidates with a strong learning track record and clear evidence of continuous skill development are encouraged to apply.
