About the role
- Cyber Security Engineer for embedded systems at PICKPLACE. Focus on security analysis, architecture design, and customer collaboration in a non-corporate environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct risk analyses (e.g., TARA) to assess potential threats and vulnerabilities
- Analyze, derive, and manage cyber security requirements in customer projects
- Design, document, and implement comprehensive security architectures
- Contribute to system and architecture design with attention to security-relevant aspects
- Develop and integrate safety-critical functions in embedded systems (C/C++)
- Perform code reviews and verify security requirements as part of security audits
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Cyber Resilience Act, ISO 21434, IEC 62443)
- Provide expert advice and support to our customers on all embedded cyber security matters
- Where applicable, conduct penetration tests using Kali Linux
Requirements
- A degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, IT Security, or a comparable technical qualification
- Several years of practical experience in embedded software development (e.g., in C/C++)
- Good knowledge of at least one scripting language such as Python, bash, or PowerShell
- Solid knowledge of industrial bus systems and protocols such as CAN, CANopen, UDS, EtherCAT, IO-Link, or traditional serial protocols (RS232, RS485, Modbus, ...)
- Extensive knowledge and practical experience in cyber security, ideally in the embedded domain
- Familiarity with current security technologies and experience conducting vulnerability analyses
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
