About the role
- Database Engineer I focused on acquisition and integration of data into Data Lake. Responsible for management of databases and leading company’s data strategy.
Responsibilities
- Develop, support, and maintain SQL jobs and SSMS packages for data imports, exports, and transformations
- Monitor database systems and Airflow for performance and respond promptly to system outages or disruptions
- Provide ongoing maintenance of database refreshes
- Design and implement standards for data storage, workflow, maintenance, access, and security administration
- Diagnose and resolve system errors and other database-related issues
- Run and analyze reports to identify common issues, complaints, and areas for improvement
- Install or update database software to address issues, improve functionality, and ensure compatibility with other systems
- Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Analytics department
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, CIS, Computer Science, Software Development, Mathematics or a related field
- Relevant work experience can be considered in lieu of a degree
- Relevant certifications are highly desirable, including certifications focused on database management (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate)
- Experience working in a dental or healthcare-related organization is a plus
- Extensive experience with SQL Server, including SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure
- Strong scripting abilities, particularly in PowerShell
- Proven expertise in designing and managing ETL processes
- Strong skills in database design, modeling, and optimization
- Comprehensive knowledge of database security best practices
