About the role

  • Join Payscale as a QA Engineer II to enhance product quality and innovation through rigorous testing and collaboration with development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze new feature requirements and design specifications
  • Collaborate closely with the development team to define testing strategies for various components
  • Develop and execute comprehensive functional test plans and test cases
  • Create test coverage reports and other quality-related documentation
  • Perform project and defect tracking using standard tools and processes
  • Drive and enforce QA best practices and continuous process improvements

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a software Quality Assurance role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with automation testing tools such as Selenium
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Experience using issue/project tracking tools such as JIRA
  • Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment
  • Experience with test case management systems (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr)
  • Experience testing APIs using Postman or similar tools
  • Ability to support, maintain and execute automated functional tests
  • Basic programming skills with one of the following: C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Experience with AI tooling to aid in test case generation and developing automated tests (OpenAI, GitHub Copilot, etc.)
  • SQL skills (e.g., PostgreSQL, MSSQL)
  • Familiarity with automation testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright)
