IT Security Officer responsible for enhancing IT security and compliance in German organizations. Collaborating with stakeholders to develop security guidelines and risk management strategies.
Responsibilities
You will lead the expansion and further development of IT security in Germany — from defining the security strategy to embedding it in local structures
You will develop and maintain central security policies, architectures and requirements in alignment with group standards and ensure their implementation within the German organizations
You will identify and assess security risks, vulnerabilities and threats and derive effective, practical measures to improve the security posture
You will manage the implementation of security policies and frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, BSI IT-Grundschutz) and monitor compliance as well as adherence to legal requirements such as the GDPR
You will coordinate incident management at a national level, manage external partners (e.g., SOC/MDR, penetration testing, managed services) and be responsible for KPI/SLA controlling
You will drive the development of a strong security culture, design awareness measures and raise awareness among management and employees at all locations
You will be the central point of contact for IT security matters in Germany, translate group directives into actionable processes and support local teams with rollout and implementation
Requirements
Experience in IT security/information security with a focus on strategy, processes and governance
Experience with common security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, BSI IT-Grundschutz) and ideally experience managing external service providers
Solid understanding of network security, endpoint protection, SIEM and cloud security
Strong communication skills in German (at least C1) and English (B2) and comfortable engaging with international stakeholders
Ability to communicate security requirements clearly and to embed them sustainably within organizations
