About the role

  • Intern supporting project engineering alongside PG&E Project Engineers focused on power generation improvements. Engage in technical and project management tasks with an experienced engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside PG&E Project Engineers.
  • Provide engineering, project management, and technical support to O&M staff.
  • Engage in projects related to improvements to power generation and infrastructure facilities.
  • Lead and/or support activities working with a team of experienced Project Engineers.
  • Gain knowledge of the larger Hydro organization through the work performed.

Requirements

  • Earning a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • Students must be continuing their education with returning back to school in the Fall of 2026 full time.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license prior to start date.
  • Students must be in good academic standing.
  • Be able to accommodate field location work fifty (50) percent of the time.
  • Desired: EIT or FE certification
  • Academic school projects related to Utility or Energy Hydroelectric listed on resume
  • Prior PG&E internship
  • 3.0 GPA or greater
  • Engineering experience in utilities, municipalities, construction, or engineering consultation
  • Ability to work in a team environment and support fellow team members
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Takes initiative and can work independently with minimal direction.
