About the role
- Assoc Automation Engineer responsible for ensuring process control systems meet local and global standards at Novo Nordisk. Collaborating with stakeholders and executing qualification activities for FMS/BMS systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, project teams and vendors to ensure process control systems for new and existing equipment meet local and global standards
- Work with equipment suppliers and Schneider to specify field instrument assemblies and sensors, ensuring devices can connect to and be used in local manufacturing while meeting requirements from both people and equipment perspectives
- Act as a gatekeeper for standards
- Partnering with other departments such as QC and Warehouse, gather requirements (for example sensor temperature ranges) to guide equipment selection
- Execute qualification activities for FMS/BMS systems in GMP areas, participate in protocol development and execute qualification protocols as required
- Support periodic system evaluations, change requests and deviation handling that are critical to maintaining our license to operate
- As an expert on FMS/BMS software interfaces, configure alarms and reports and provide training and guidance to others
- Responsible for one or more HVAC and FMS/BMS equipment items, working closely with maintenance and production to plan, coordinate and release facility activities
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field of study from an accredited university required
- May consider an Associate’s degree in engineering or related field from an accredited university with two (2) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems required
- May consider a High School Degree/GED with four (4) years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems required
- Minimum of two (2) years engineering experience in process-based manufacturing, utility, &/or packaging systems preferred
- Technical/Process/Functional knowledge preferred
- Knowledgeable in the following technologies: PLC, DCS/SCADA, MES, Oracle, MS SQL (databases), Historian, general controls a plus
