About the role

  • Application Scientist providing pre-sales customer support and developing advanced applications in scientific instrumentation. Collaborating with sales and product teams to enhance business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales customer support that furthers the sales process
  • Work in partnership with the sales team to provide application-driven answers
  • Provide advanced applications technical support
  • Conduct site visits making recommendations for implementation of M&CS NIR equipment
  • Train individuals or groups in the customer and sales distribution and customer care network
  • Support of target marketing activities as required
  • Acquire knowledge of other technologies or measurements used by customers

Requirements

  • University Degree(s) in a scientific discipline
  • Graduate level degree in Chemistry, Physics, or Chemical Engineering preferred
  • Experience of NIR Spectroscopy highly desirable
  • Good laboratory and reporting skills
  • Ability to gain the trust, confidence, and technical respect of our customers
  • Problem solving ability relating to the application of our product
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions while under pressure
  • Ability to undertake many jobs in parallel (Multi-tasking)
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Access & PowerPoint
  • Strong organizational ability with good planning skills
  • Good interpersonal skills both with colleagues and customers
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a flexible attitude
