About the role

  • Coherent Optical Transceiver Test Automation Engineer enhancing optical validation processes at Nokia. Collaborating internationally on advanced test automation in optical communications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of test automation strategies using Python and AI-driven frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with international standards and MSAs, such as IEEE, ITU-T, OIF, OpenZR+, and OpenROADM.
  • Conduct functional optical validation (oDVT) and analyze test results to identify weaknesses in the device under test.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams and stakeholders across different company locations worldwide.
  • Increase the throughput of optical validation processes, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Enhance the quality and consistency of test results, ensuring accurate and reliable data.
  • Enable systematic statistical data collection, providing valuable insights for AI-driven analytics.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in optical communications and coherent transmission technology.
  • Foster a collaborative and aligned environment, promoting effective communication and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
  • Solid academic foundation and proven experience in optical communications and coherent transmission technology.
  • Expertise in test automation using Python, with knowledge of AI-driven frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in functional optical validation (oDVT) and optical communication systems.
  • Strong understanding of pluggable optical transceivers (QSFP-DD, OSFP) for high-speed transmission.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Availability to work on-site at least 3 days per week.
  • Capacity to manage international pressure and meet deadlines effectively.
