About the role

  • Embedded Software Engineer linking embedded software development with quality assurance in safety-critical projects. Responsible for ensuring safe products through a structured process.

Responsibilities

  • You develop embedded software in C/C++ for safety-critical systems in industries such as industrial automation, avionics, and automotive—e.g., safety-relevant communication modules.
  • You accompany development projects from kick-off to acceptance.
  • As the central point of contact, you ensure that processes are not only documented but are effectively implemented in daily work and meet project requirements.
  • You work closely with project managers and with software, hardware, and systems teams, advising on quality and process-related matters.
  • You ensure that regulatory requirements (e.g., from IEC/DIN EN 62304 or related standards) are correctly interpreted and implemented in a solution-oriented way.
  • You analyze project results and, together with process owners, derive concrete improvements for methods, tools, and our quality management system.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development, system or hardware development, or quality management—ideally in safety-critical environments (industrial, avionics, medical technology, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of C/C++ and relevant standards such as DIN EN 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, or equivalents.
  • Experience with model-based development, software architecture, and design (e.g., UML).
  • Practical experience working in PMT environments (processes, methods, tools) and an understanding of DevOps principles.
  • Experience with requirements management and traceability tools such as DOORS, Polarion, or similar systems.
  • Excellent German language skills (C1) and good English language skills.
