Embedded Software Engineer linking embedded software development with quality assurance in safety-critical projects. Responsible for ensuring safe products through a structured process.
Responsibilities
You develop embedded software in C/C++ for safety-critical systems in industries such as industrial automation, avionics, and automotive—e.g., safety-relevant communication modules.
You accompany development projects from kick-off to acceptance.
As the central point of contact, you ensure that processes are not only documented but are effectively implemented in daily work and meet project requirements.
You work closely with project managers and with software, hardware, and systems teams, advising on quality and process-related matters.
You ensure that regulatory requirements (e.g., from IEC/DIN EN 62304 or related standards) are correctly interpreted and implemented in a solution-oriented way.
You analyze project results and, together with process owners, derive concrete improvements for methods, tools, and our quality management system.
Requirements
At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded software development, system or hardware development, or quality management—ideally in safety-critical environments (industrial, avionics, medical technology, or similar).
Strong knowledge of C/C++ and relevant standards such as DIN EN 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 26262, ISO 21434, or equivalents.
Experience with model-based development, software architecture, and design (e.g., UML).
Practical experience working in PMT environments (processes, methods, tools) and an understanding of DevOps principles.
Experience with requirements management and traceability tools such as DOORS, Polarion, or similar systems.
Excellent German language skills (C1) and good English language skills.
