About the role
- Test Engineer responsible for supporting manufacturing testing of NetApp products. Collaborating with teams to design and implement test processes for optimal product quality and coverage.
Responsibilities
- Support the manufacturing testing of NetApp products throughout their lifecycle
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to contribute to the design, development, and implementation of test processes
- Help address issues efficiently and support timely delivery standards for high-quality products
- Develop, modify, and execute software test plans and cases, both manually and through automation
- Contribute to manufacturing test strategies
- Support requirements validation for test automation
- Participate in equipment selection and conduct manufacturing verification tests
- Document procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in storage systems testing, hardware testing, or test development
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering field
- Foundational understanding of data storage technologies and storage operating systems
- Familiarity with storage concepts including file systems, high availability configurations, virtualization layers, and system administration tools
- Familiarity with NAS/SAN concepts and block-level and file-level protocols such as NFS, CIFS/SMB, and Fibre Channel (FC)
- Experience with or exposure to storage hardware components such as drives, disk shelves, IOM modules, cables, and controller configurations
- Familiarity with drive types including SATA, SAS, NVMe, and SSD
- Good understanding of Linux or other Unix-like operating systems
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Perl, or compiled languages like Java or C#
- Strong automation skills.
