About the role

  • Linux Platform Engineer building and scaling infrastructure pipelines for MULTIVAC. Collaborating on transformation from Windows environments to Linux container platforms.

Responsibilities

  • You will build and scale our “Infrastructure as Code” pipeline for industrial PCs based on Ansible and GitHub Actions
  • You will develop smart solutions for remote management and OTA updates of our global device fleet
  • You will support the technological transition from traditional Windows environments to Linux container platforms (Podman/Docker)
  • You will ensure via automated tests in the CI pipeline that every image arrives at the customer stable and secure.

Requirements

  • Several years of experience configuring and automating the creation of Linux distributions (focus on Debian)
  • Practical expertise in automation with Ansible
  • Implementing build processes using GitHub Actions (CI/CD)
  • Confident use of container technologies such as Podman or Docker
  • Experience creating scripts for system configuration
  • Development of services and web APIs to provide machine interfaces
  • Routinely working with Bash scripting
  • Knowledge of web app/API development is a plus
  • Willingness to maintain existing Windows-based legacy systems
  • Experience in collaborative software development (pull requests, code reviews)
  • Knowledge of managing Windows images for industrial PCs
