Responsibilities
- Manage the Electrical Engineering team, including system generalist engineers and SMEs: RF, camera, power
- Be a key leader for all NPI projects, ensuring the team is designing to a high standard, solving problems effectively, and that our devices are capable of achieving performance targets.
- Critical partner to the TPM and Embedded software teams
- Author and implement process improvements as we improve how we design, validate, and qualify our products and partners
- Influence product roadmap by offering innovative technology options and by highlighting major risks.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a hardware engineering leader, OEM, ODM, JDM all valuable
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Experience managing teams of engineers and being responsible for multiple projects concurrently
- Very strong domain knowledge in electronics development:
- Experience with board bring up, power supply and signal integrity testing as well as debug and root cause analysis
- Experience with various interfaces such as I2C, UART, SPI, USB, MIPI, I2S, DDR, eMMC, NAND flash etc.
- Experience with Wifi, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G/5G, cameras, batteries, and other peripherals
- 15+ years of experience as a cross-functional engineering leader (for Sr. Director position)
- Experience managing the full engineering lifecycle for Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Reliability, Quality, Sustaining teams
- Able to define electromechanical architecture as well as vendor selection criteria
- Clear communication skills and ability to manage escalations with CEO-level visibility.
