About the role

• Account specialist at Mercedes-Benz handling financial reporting and collaborating with multiple stakeholders. Ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Make accounting/cost and financial postings in MBBras corporate systems aimed at producing reports and updating databases to be reported monthly to the Central office in Germany;
• Actively analyze monthly, quarterly and annual variances at each accounting close to prepare explanations to be provided to internal stakeholders (Germany, CFO and the Board) and external stakeholders (external auditors and banks) of C/AF;
• Collaborate with C/AF departments to ensure greater process synergy and efficient operational flow of accounting and financial activities;
• Guide and train employees on local and international accounting and cost rules, as needed;
• Prepare financial and accounting reports based on local (CPC) and international (IFRS) accounting standards for reporting to the Global Financial Reporting area (Germany);
• Analyze inventory, cost and provision variances and perform calculations when required;
• Support partner areas in analyzing, regularizing or recommending corrections to accounting entries that impact MBBras financial statements;
• Monitor and review existing end-to-end processes and suggest improvements;
• Understand the impacts and implications of changes in CPC and IFRS rules on MBBras financial statements;
• Interpret policies and guidelines, design and implement solutions and concepts in Finance & Controlling systems;
• Research and implement new technologies that can add value to the Financial Reporting area and improve processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
• Intermediate proficiency in English (reading, writing and speaking);
• Experience in accounting: month-end closing routines, reconciliations, financial reporting, and accounting standards;
• Knowledge of Power BI and KNIME;
• Knowledge of SAP (modules FI, CO and MM);
• Postgraduate degree/MBA in the field.
