About the role

  • Data Engineer simplifying data access within Luminor Group. Collaborating with stakeholders to build data pipelines and enhance data quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements
  • Create and maintain optimal data orchestration pipelines
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability
  • Work within a Domain Delivery team to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs
  • Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Remain up to date with industry standards and technological advancements that will improve the quality of your outputs
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and provide constructive feedback
  • Guide colleagues and junior engineers through complex problems and projects
  • Establish and enforce coding standards and best practices to maintain consistency and reliability
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, such as Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Data Scientists, to address complex data-related technical issues and support their data pipeline/business solution needs

Requirements

  • Good understanding and working knowledge of DWH (Sybase/Oracle) and RDBMS (MS SQL) - At least 3 to 4 years of experience in SQL is required
  • Demonstrated expertise in Apache Airflow is an advantage
  • Good understanding and expertise in Data warehouse management and concepts
  • Fluent in Python programming and other programming languages would also be a plus
  • Exposure to utilize the AI technologies for better productivity
  • Demonstrated experience in leading fellow data engineers in problem-solving, mentoring, code reviews, development, and educating the team on best data engineering practices
  • Exposure to modern Data Lakehouse architecture
  • Great communication skills, both verbal and written, and interest in working with a diverse set of peers
  • Ability to build a shared understanding of the problems and determine potential solution
  • Ability to be self-organized, balanced and show initiative

  • Genuine enjoyment of the art of building great data solutions
  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering or similar majors
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with cross-functional project team
  • Exposure with common BI and Data exploration tools (e.g., Business Objects, Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level
