About the role
- Engineer managing and supervising the Safety team at Localiza&Co in São Paulo. Overseeing safety policies and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the Occupational Safety team for the São Paulo units, managing activities, targets, and the implementation of developed policies.
- Be responsible for preparing and updating department policies and procedures;
- Conduct activities to identify, analyze, and propose control measures for risks in routine and non-routine operations, including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), to prevent occupational incidents and ensure a safe and healthy work environment;
- Coordinate and implement occupational safety programs, such as PGR, LTCAT, AET and others, in compliance with current legislation;
- Issue technical reports and opinions and perform periodic inspections, including assessments of operational and traffic risks;
- Work together with occupational health/occupational medicine to provide solutions for identified occupational risks;
- Coordinate safety inspections, audits, and action plans, ensuring operational discipline and compliance with internal and legal standards;
- Analyze and monitor performance indicators (KPIs), promoting structured continuous improvement actions;
- Support legal and forensic requests related to occupational safety;
- Participate in accident prevention and control programs, oversee workplace safety and compliance with regulations, including risk management for third parties and service providers;
- Analyze safety requirements for new processes and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering and postgraduate qualification in Occupational Safety with active CREA registration;
- Previous experience as a safety engineer;
- Experience with analysis of safety indicators;
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills;
- Knowledge of health and safety certifications such as ISO 45001 is a plus;
- Desirable knowledge of traffic safety (defensive driving courses);
- Availability for occasional travel.
