Requirements
- Proven data engineering experience including designing data models, normalisation, and entity relationship for analytics at scale.
- Hands-on building ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestrations (ideally Airflow/Cloud Composer) on GCP.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: version control (Git/GitHub), PR discipline, code reviews, automated testing (unit/integration), and CI/CD.
- Proficiency in Python for data engineering and service development; writing clean, efficient, well-structured code.
- Practical data governance mindset: access controls, lineage, cataloguing, and data quality embedded into delivery.
- Experience in a regulated environment (banking/financial services ideal) and familiarity with prudential/regulatory data needs (e.g., Basel III, CRD IV).
- People leadership: coaching engineers, setting standards, aligning teams around outcomes, and creating momentum.
