About the role

• Backend Engineer developing backend services for payments infrastructure at Lendbuzz. Focusing on secure money transfers and high-volume financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain critical backend services for our payments charges infrastructure.
• Integrate with complex external financial APIs and banking systems to facilitate secure money transfers.
• Design and build robust architecture to handle high-volume financial transactions with zero tolerance for data loss.
• Write clean, well-tested code to ensure the highest level of system reliability.
• Leverage AI coding assistants to boost productivity, while maintaining strict code quality, security, and critical review standards.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Operations, Finance, and other engineering teams to release features that impact thousands of happy customers and partners.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in backend development.
• Strong programming skills, with expertise in Python.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Preference for top-tier universities).
• Deep understanding and proven experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or equivalent).
• Experience designing and integrating with APIs (RESTful services).
• A "quality-first" mindset: Strong understanding of testing methodologies and writing code for highly sensitive/critical systems.
• Tech-savvy and adaptable: Experience or a strong desire to incorporate AI dev tools into your daily workflow, combined with the critical thinking needed to review and validate AI-generated code.
• Independent, proactive, with great interpersonal skills.
