Responsibilities
- Build optical systems, align them, and perform various optical tests
- Operate optical manufacturing equipment and inspect optics for quality and defects
- Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions
- Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation
- Perform optical alignment work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment
Requirements
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience
- Optics Certification/Degree preferred
- Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical fabrication discipline preferred
- Aerospace or Defense industry experience preferred
- Direct experience with Optical Interferometry, MTF testing, Lens bench testing, Resolution testing
- Proficient with measuring tools (verniers, calipers, scales, etc.)
- Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays, and some travel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
