About the role

  • Summer Trainee in Mechanical Engineering at Kempower working on early-phase product concepting and prototyping for EV charging solutions.

Responsibilities

  • participate in early‑phase product concepting
  • mechanical feasibility studies
  • hands‑on prototyping
  • Supporting early‑phase mechanical concept creation for new EV charging products
  • Making 3D models, layouts and simple simulations (e.g. space/fit, structural feasibility)
  • Participating in prototype builds and practical evaluation in the lab
  • Documenting concept alternatives and preparing visual materials for concept reviews
  • Assisting in mechanical requirement gathering and translating them into design inputs

Requirements

  • final-year student or a recent graduate in Mechanical engineering or a related field
  • Motivation to learn and courage to contribute actively
  • A proactive mindset and strong collaboration skills
  • Previous experience with mechanical design tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) or hands‑on prototyping is seen as an advantage
  • good English skills. Finnish is considered an advantage but not mandatory.
