About the role

Responsibilities
- Conduct therapeutic activities to enhance the physical, emotional, and social well-being of individuals and groups.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Evaluate participant progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Provide leadership and training to staff in therapeutic practices and activities.
- Facilitate engaging programs that promote recreational opportunities and personal growth.
Requirements
- Requires a bachelor's degree with a major in therapeutic recreation, music therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, drama therapy, leisure studies or recreation with a specialization in recreational therapy, including successful completion of an approved internship, fieldwork, or practicum.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience utilizing knowledge of the attitudes, problems, and behaviors of individuals and groups.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience utilizing the principles and practices of recreational therapy, music therapy, art therapy, dance therapy and drama therapy.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience teaching therapeutic activities.
- Prefers at least one (1) year of professional experience leading and directing other workers in carrying out specific projects or work.
- Requires the ability to pass a background check.
- Requires the ability to pass a drug screen and pre-employment physical.
- Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related policies and guidance.
- Requires the ability to stand for the duration of the shift, aside from official breaks and lunch period.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties, with overnight stays as appropriate.
- Requires appropriate, valid drivers license.
