Responsibilities
Develop and optimize packaging solutions for PCBA and finished goods globally
Ensure packaging designs comply with evolving environmental regulations and sustainability standards while drive simplification
Create and update technical documentation, specifications, and test protocols
Be part of NPI teams, contributing to early design and industrialization discussions
Influence decisions across diverse teams, ensuring packaging considerations are integrated early and effectively
Collaborate with sustaining engineering teams to improve existing packaging performance and reduce cost
Work closely with manufacturing sites, supply chain, quality, external partners, and suppliers
Stay current on new regulations related to environmental impact, reuse systems, recyclability, and waste management
Ensure packaging systems are optimized for logistics, factory handling, and durability across multiple touchpoints
Partner with external packaging vendors and manage the currently semi-outsourced packaging design activities
Travel to and work on factory floors as needed to validate packaging performance and gather operational insights. (Travel requirements: 10%)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
Experience with packaging design software
Deep expertise in EU environmental and packaging regulations, manufacturing quality norms and standards (ISO, EN, and other regulatory frameworks), and the ability to apply them effectively in operational and manufacturing environments
Knowledge of materials science and packaging test methodologies
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers
Fluency in English; French / German / Italian are a plus
