About the role

  • Solutions Designer working closely with clients on data-driven systems for enterprise clients. Involved in design, delivery, and ongoing support of bespoke software projects.

Responsibilities

  • Play a key role in the design and delivery of a new project extending an existing system architecture, building a strong understanding of current platforms, constraints, and client context.
  • Analyse and structure business and stakeholder needs into clearly defined requirements, documented scope, and fit-for-purpose artefacts that provide a solid foundation for development.
  • Present structured options, trade-offs, and recommendations to support informed decision-making, maintaining traceability from business needs through to delivered outcomes.
  • Design practical, coherent workflows and interfaces that operate effectively within existing architectural principles and technical constraints.
  • Work closely with stakeholders, developers, and QA to maintain shared understanding from initial exploration through to implementation, ensuring alignment across disciplines.
  • Support internal testing, review, and assurance activities, ensuring delivered features align with agreed requirements and intended business outcomes.
  • Over time, take increasing responsibility for structured exploration of business and user requirements, helping to formalise how problems are defined and solutions are shaped.

Requirements

  • Degree in a relevant technical or professional discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant industry or role spanning business analysis, systems design, UX design, or a related discipline.
  • Experience analysing and translating business or stakeholder needs into clear, structured requirements and solution artefacts.
  • Experience using modern UX and design tools to create and iterate on workflows, wireframes, and prototypes (e.g. Figma, Moqups, or similar).
  • Experience with collaboration and delivery tooling (e.g. Jira, Confluence or equivalent platforms).
  • Experience working across software development lifecycles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences.
