About the role
- Manufacturing Engineer leading manufacturing processes and projects at Haskel. Specializing in high-pressure fluid management and efficiency improvement at the Sunderland site.
Responsibilities
- Provide manufacturing engineering leadership, project management and sustaining engineering expertise to Sunderland or other Specialty Group manufacturing facilities.
- Evaluate existing manufacturing process, maximise efficiency by analysing layout of the equipment, workflow, and workforce utilisation.
- Design and implement new fixtures and tooling utilising Lean techniques.
- Consult with product design team for improved DFM & DFA (Design for Manufacture / Assembly).
- Develop work instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Develop training manuals and facilitate employees training.
- Conduct time studies, evaluate and change routers as needed.
- Continuous improvement in worker’s safety and ergonomics.
- Write ECO and BOM change request.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or working towards.
- Green Belt or higher in Lean and/or Six Sigma is beneficial.
- Current experience in related manufacturing.
- Proven track record in root cause identification, FMEA.
- Excellent visualisation & conceptualisation skills.
- Clear verbal communication skills.
- Decisive written communication skills (work instructions, manuals, plans, presentations, videos etc.).
- Organisation skills – tracks status of multiple projects.
- Prioritisation is key.
- Experience with 3D CAD Modelling or Inventor experience is preferred.
