About the role

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Managing and monitoring NetApp storage systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Administering Commvault backup and recovery solutions to ensure consistent and accurate data protection
  • Operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting Fibre Channel switches within the SAN infrastructure, ensuring stable connectivity between storage arrays and servers
  • Operating and maintaining the Nagios and Zabbix monitoring systems to track infrastructure health, performance metrics, and alerts
  • Performing routine storage performance tuning, system health checks, and backup job validation; updating backup plans based on business needs
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to storage performance, data access, and backup failures; escalating tickets to 2nd level support, vendors, or management as needed
  • Responding to and resolving storage, backup, and system alerts raised through monitoring tools
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation related to system configurations, backup schedules, and recovery procedures
  • Providing tier-2/3 support for storage and backup-related incidents
  • Staying updated on emerging technologies and industry best practices in storage and backup management

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Familiarity with:** a. System administration (MS Windows, Linux)** b. Hardware virtualization
  • Familiarity with IP networking
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-vendor environment
  • Flexibility and willingness to participate in non-standard working-time models (e.g., on-call/standby)
  • Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
  • **Desired Skills**
  • Experience in a Service Provider environment
  • Network and systems administration experience
  • Previous experience with NetApp storage systems (installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting)
  • Previous experience with Commvault backup and recovery solutions (installation, configuration, troubleshooting)
  • Familiarity with Nagios for system monitoring, alerting, and performance tracking
  • Understanding of storage protocols (FCP, iSCSI, NFS, CIFS, etc.) and SAN/NAS environments
  • Basic understanding of data protection, encryption, and compliance standards
