About the role
- Senior HPC Engineer optimizing high-performance computing clusters in enterprise environments. Engaging with Linux, scheduling, and performance in a hybrid work setup in Munich.
Responsibilities
- Operation and further development of high-performance computing clusters
- Linux system engineering (RHEL / SLES / Ubuntu)
- HPC job scheduling and resource management
- Performance optimization of compute and storage workloads
- Support for architecture and transformation projects
- Automation of provisioning, configuration and health checks (Python / Bash)
- Monitoring, logging and observability (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk)
Requirements
- Several years of experience in Linux system engineering
- Experience in an HPC environment or with comparable high-performance setups
- Knowledge of HPC job scheduling/resource management (e.g., Slurm, LSF, PBS Pro or equivalent)
- Familiarity with high-throughput/low-latency networking (e.g., InfiniBand, RDMA)
- Experience with distributed/parallel filesystems (e.g., Lustre) is a plus
- Scripting with Python and Bash
- German language skills desirable
