About the role

  • Senior HPC Engineer optimizing high-performance computing clusters in enterprise environments. Engaging with Linux, scheduling, and performance in a hybrid work setup in Munich.

Responsibilities

  • Operation and further development of high-performance computing clusters
  • Linux system engineering (RHEL / SLES / Ubuntu)
  • HPC job scheduling and resource management
  • Performance optimization of compute and storage workloads
  • Support for architecture and transformation projects
  • Automation of provisioning, configuration and health checks (Python / Bash)
  • Monitoring, logging and observability (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk)

Requirements

  • Several years of experience in Linux system engineering
  • Experience in an HPC environment or with comparable high-performance setups
  • Knowledge of HPC job scheduling/resource management (e.g., Slurm, LSF, PBS Pro or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with high-throughput/low-latency networking (e.g., InfiniBand, RDMA)
  • Experience with distributed/parallel filesystems (e.g., Lustre) is a plus
  • Scripting with Python and Bash
  • German language skills desirable
